METHOD FOR REDUCING WRITE PERIOD IN DRIVING PDP

PURPOSE: A method for reducing write period in driving PDP is provided to realize a PDP such as a high definition television(HDTV) at a high resolution by drastically reducing the time for addressing. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a plasma display panel for reducing the write period includes the steps of: dividing one frame of the image information into a plurality of sub-frames so as to display a predetermined image information on an AC-PDP; and inserting the initialization period, a writing period and a sustain period into each of the sub-frames. The AC-PDP is provided with a plurality of sustain electrodes, a plurality of address electrodes perpendicular to the sustain electrodes and a plurality of discharge cells formed at the cross points between the sustain electrodes and the address electrodes.
