PURPOSE: A spindle motor for a disc drive is provided to form a track with a step structure at a rotor, to form a housing at an upper end of a stator, and to make a turn table and a pulling magnet be sunk from a surface of the rotor and the stator so that it reduces a height. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a deck plate, a shaft(100), a cap type rotor, a pulling magnet(300), a stator(200) and a turntable(50). The shaft(100) is rotationally installed at the deck plate(1). The cap type rotor is combined with an upper circumferential face of the shaft(100), and forms a magnet at an inner circumferential face. The pulling magnet(300), installed under the rotor, generates a pulling force for pulling the rotor downward. The stator(200) includes a metal bearing, a holder, a core, and a housing. The housing holds the pulling magnet(300). The turntable(50) includes a disc chuck and a jaw. The disc chuck seats the disc at a center, and the jaw fixes the disc.
