PURPOSE: A manual operation device of a shutter for construction is provided to improve arrangement of a push button of a manual closing mechanism, to prevent misoperation, to improve easiness of operation in case of an emergency, and to improve the exterior view. CONSTITUTION: A manual operation device(10) of a shutter for construction has operation switches opening, stopping or closing a shutter curtain at normal times, and a manual closing mechanism(20) releasing a brake device to close the shutter curtain in case of an emergency. The operation switch is received in a receiving box(11) covered with a lock-attached cover. The manual closing mechanism is installed near the lock-attached cover. The manual closing mechanism is formed in an L-shape. The center of the manual closing mechanism is slidably supported around a support shaft(23). A wire(9) for releasing the brake device is connected to one end of the manual closing mechanism. The other end of the manual closing mechanism has a return lever(21), a locking mechanism(30) for locking the return lever into a braking position, and a push button(22) unlocking the return lever into a release position, and releasing the brake device. The return lever is operated in the braking position for stretching the wire and changing the brake device into a braking state, and in the release position for unloosening the wire and releasing the brake device. A misoperation preventive pin(40) for restricting pushing action of the push button is installed in the receiving box in a state of appearing and disappearing from the side of the lock-attached cover.
