PURPOSE: A channel collision preventing method in a QSIG(Q Signaling)-VoIP gateway is provided to secure a voice channel from an exchange in advance for a call connection started from a VoIP network. CONSTITUTION: A VoIP gateway transmits its transport address information to a QSIG-VoIP gateway(S200). The QSIG-VoIP gateway transmits its transport address to the VoIP gateway(S202). The QSIG-VoIP gateway transmits a channel allocation request message to an exchange(S204). The exchange determines whether there is an idle channel and secures an idle channel(S206) and transmits a channel allocation message to the QSIG-VoIP gateway(S208). The QSIG-VoIP gateway transmits a setup message including channel ID received from the exchange to the exchange(S210). The exchange transmits a setup ACK message to the QSIG-VoIP gateway(S212).
