The phlebectomy instrument includes a thin end designed to extract collateral veins, e.g. the saphenpus vein, while optimally stripping surrounding tissues. The thin end includes a recessed profile parallel to the axis of a cylinder represented by a catheter, for cooperating, by rotatable overlapping on the face of the vein segment. The end includes a bevelled profile for stripping the surrounding tissue.
