PURPOSE: Provided is a back washing apparatus for effectively washing advanced treatment system of sewage and wastewater treatment works. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a raw water inlet tank(1), a reaction tank(2) with a sloped bottom surface and a weir at an upper end thereof, a sludge pocket(4) provided at the bottom of the reaction tank(2), a horizontal support plate(5) installed on the sloped bottom surface of the reaction tank(2), a plurality of supporting beds(5a) regularly arranged at side edges of the horizontal support plate(5), a first main pipe(6) with a horizontal part extending on the horizontal support plate(5) in direction of water flow and a vertical part vertically extending from an end of the horizontal part to the outside of the reaction tank(2), branching pipes(7) being perpendicularly and horizontally extending from an end of the horizontal part of the first main pipe(6) and having both ends placed on the supporting beds(5a) and a plurality of air distribution holes(7a), an air injection valve(8a) provided to the vertical part of the first main pipe(6), a second main pipe(9) perpendicularly connected to an upper end of the first main pipe(6), and a blower(10) for supplying air to the first main pipe(6) through the second main pipe(9).
