The gear box has two coaxial primary shafts carrying fixed teeth that are respectively actuated by two clutches. Two secondary shafts carry unstrained pinions (81, 86) with a jaw clutching (100-103) actuated by a fork assembly (230,240,250,260). The fork assembly is operated manually in a common control axis by an internal control shaft (201), independent of the clutches. An Independent claim is also included for a method of controlling a gear box.
