PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for testing weatherability of images, which can simulate compositely and accurately the light fastness and gas resistance of images, such as ink jet recorded image. SOLUTION: The method of testing the weatherability of the images, which evaluates the weatherability of the images, characterized by having a step in which the image is set in an atmosphere of mixed gas, including ozone and at least one kind of gas other than ozone, and a step in which the image in the atmosphere of the mixed gas is irradiated with a light having a prescribed wavelength for a prescribed light quantity irradiation, and the apparatus for realizing the method are provided.
