PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a doup weaving construction by using a rotary heddle apparatus. SOLUTION: A unit opening means for operating two warps forming an opening is constituted by making each groove bottom of three adjacent fitting grooves a left groove 19, a middle groove 20 and a right groove 21 in the adjacently continued fitting grooves in the radial direction of a rotating shaft into one set. The maximum turning radius Rmx of the middle groove to maximize a turning radius turning radius from the shaft center to the groove bottom is made shorter than any of the maximum turning radius Rpx of the left groove to maximize a turning radius from the shaft center to the groove bottom and the maximum turning radius Rqx of the right groove to maximize a turning radius from the shaft center to the groove bottom. The high groove bottoms 28 and 29 of the middle groove to become the maximum turning radius Rmx are formed at two positions different in direction by 180 degrees relatively to the shaft center. Every time a warp 12 fitted to the middle groove is pushed up by the high groove bottoms 28 and 29 to form an opening 14, a warp 13 fitted from the left groove to the right groove is alternately changed from the left groove to the right groove or the right groove to the left groove to form the doup weaving construction.
