The fuel injection valve (1) has a magnetic coil (10) . An armature (20) is actuated by the magnetic coil (10) in a closing direction of a return spring (23). A valve pin (3) is in force fitting connection with the armature for actuating a valve closure body (4) which forms a sealed seat together with the valve seat surface (6). The armature (20) is also actuated by a preliminary stroke spring (38). The preliminary stroke spring (38) is arranged radially outwards in a recess (40) of the armature (20).
