<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device which can generate a steering auxiliary force with high response under the situation where turn-back operations must be repeated, while securing energy saving by stop-and-go control. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic control unit 3 counts the number of times (number of times of operation) of steering operation wherein a steering angle of a steering wheel 11 is continuously changed by more than a predetermined number of times (for example, five times), on the basis of a signal given from a steering angle sensor 6. In a case when the number of times of operation per a specific time is more than the predetermined number of times, a target rotating speed of an electric motor 29 is set to a specific high rotating speed VH. When the target rotating speed of the electric motor 29 is set to the predetermined high rotating speed VH, the target rotating speed of the electric motor 29 is kept at the high rotating speed VH for a specific delay time ΔT, after the number of times of operation per the specific time is lowered to be less than the predetermined number of times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
