PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically detect which one of the two types of new inkjet cartridges with different initial ink volumes is mounted on the main equipment, and to accurately give a warning when an ink remaining volume is reduced regardless of the type. SOLUTION: The inkjet recorder comprises a means to recognize the difference of the shape of inkjet cartridges (or ink tanks) with different sizes in a state where they are mounted on the main equipment, and further independently comprises a table for counting the dot counts discharged at printing or preliminary discharge depending on the type. Moreover, the inkjet recorder comprises a means to give a warning of the ink volume reduction when a predetermined dot counts are counted.
