PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing a main steam pipe room in a reactor building which enables efficient work by resolving a pileup of the work for constructing the main steam pipe room and the work for setting up a main steam pipe. SOLUTION: A body part in the upper part of the main steam (MS) pipe room 60 where an MS pipe 24 is placed is made in the form of a unit 80 and is assembled beforehand in another place. In the unit 80, a frame 81 consists of bar pedestals 82 and 84 for holding a wall bar or a pillar bar 92, a steel-frame material 86 for supporting the MS pipe 24, a deck plate 88 and a beam member 90 for supporting the deck plate 88, and the MS pipe 24, the pillar bar 92, a grating 94, a galleria steel frame 96 and a scaffold 98 for working are placed in the frame 81.
