PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency gas release device for a high pressure gas storage device to which measures for high pressure gas released at the time of emergency are provided. SOLUTION: High pressure gas in the high pressure gas storage device 11 mounted on a vehicle is released at the time of emergency for lowering inner pressure of the storage device 11. A countermeasure means 14 to gas release is provided to safely cope with it by use of released gas pressure. Passengers in the vehicle are protected, and gas release can be securely coped with without using excessive energy. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
