PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time from loading a disk to reproduction of audio and video in a multi-disk player capable of reproducing various kinds of disks such as DVD, SACD and CD different in format. SOLUTION: The format of a disk at the time of reproduction of the previous time is stored in a storage means, and discriminating is performed with the prescribed operation in accordance with the stored format.
