PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission system having high safety in requesting image transmission and by which centralized management is allowed to a transmitted image. SOLUTION: When the use of terminal equipment 22 requests the image transmission through a communication network to the user of terminal equipment 24, firstly, access is made to a system server 10 to execute the request of the image transmission. The system server 10 generates a unique identification number, prepares transmission request mail including the identification number in a subject for encryption, and transmits the transmission request mail to the terminal equipment 24. The user of the terminal equipment 24 decrypts the received mail, acquires information on the contents of the request from the contents of a text, picks up the image, and fetches the image from an image input device 29 to the terminal equipment 24. The image is attached to reply mail and is replied to the system server 10 with the identification number at reception leaving behind the subject. The system server 10 registers the attached image on an image table 12 based on the identification number of the subject of the replay mail and manages the attached image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
