PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal powder having minimal variation in shape and low contained oxygen concentration in spite of its small average particle size, and also to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In manufacturing the metal powder composed of copper or copper alloy containing 10 to 300 ppm phosphorus (P), a high pressure water atomization method where water is atomized as a refrigerant at high pressure is used and the resultant powder is reduced at 150 to 300°C.
