PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining method of a front axle wherein the machining processes are reduced from conventional three stages to two stages without using a special processing machine, and also to provide a positioning device and a jig device for the same, and a manufacturing method of the front axle by using them. SOLUTION: In a first process, a work 1W is held on a first jig J1 to center positions to form at least king pin holes 3R, 3L, in a state where one side face becomes a face to be machined by a general-purpose boring lathe, to perform the machining to form mounting faces of leaf spring seats 2L, 2R, and the machining to open the king pin holes 3R, 3L. In a second process, the work 1W machined in the first process is held on a second jig J2 for centering a position to open a cotter hole, in a state where one side face is faced in the direction orthogonal to the face machined by the general-purpose lathe, to perform the machining to open the cotter hole by the general-purpose boring lathe.
