摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a system capable of accurately reading a random pattern, and having high reading stability in an authentication system using the random pattern. <P>SOLUTION: An object device to be authenticated 1 has a rame embedded in a base material having high transmissivity of the light and reflecting the light. A device authentication apparatus 2 has a light source 201 for irradiating the object device to be authenticated 1 with the light, a first data acquiring means for acquiring first ID data proper to the authentication object device 1 from the random pattern read by a random pattern reading means for reading the random pattern of device to be authenticated 1 from an image of the light reflected by the object device to be authenticated 1, a second data recording means for recording second ID data for collation for determining genuineness of the first ID data, a second data acquiring means for acquiring the second ID data recorded on the second data recording means and a relation calculating means for authenticating genuineness of the authentication object device 1 by calculating relation between the first ID data and the second ID data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
