PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for driving objective lens which allows a manufacturing cost to be reduced, an assembly line to be simplified, and the inclination and the mechanical vibration of an objective lens to be suppressed. SOLUTION: The objective lens driving device has a lens holder 1 to hold the objective lens 2, and a fixed base 9 which supports the lens holder 1 via a shaft 3 which is in parallel with the optical axis of the objective lens 2, and a fixed yoke 11 and a permanent magnet 8 are fixed on the fixed base 9, which form a magnetic circuit. On the lens holder 1, a focusing coil 4 and tracking coils 5a, 5b are fixed. When current is made to flow in the focusing coil 4, electromagnetic force is generated due to the interaction with the magnetic field produced by the permanent magnet 8, so that the lens holder 1 moves rectilinearly along the shaft 3. When a current is made to flow in the tracking coils 5a, 5b, electromagnetic force is generated due to the interaction with the magnetic field produced by the permanent magnet 8, so that the lens holder 1 turns about the shaft 3 as the center.
