PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk unit which is enhanced in positioning accuracy by suppressing the vibration of an actuator arm by turbulence. SOLUTION: A vertical flow section is provided with a branch flow passage bypassing an actuator arm and two walls for introducing an air flow to the branch flow passage for the swirling air flow which flows on a disk surface accompanying the high-speed rotation of the disk. The greater part of the swirling air flow is thereby bypassed to the branch flow passage and the air flow rate to the actuator arm is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
