PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a position of a file without changing applicable standards for a file system, even if a data deficiency occurs in management information of the file, in a data reproducing device. SOLUTION: Reproduction of data in a disk is started from logical sector number "2180h" which has been retrieved by a partition acquiring part 13, and logical block number "A8h", "ABh" of file entry ("VR_MOVIE.VRO" File Entry) is acquired.
