PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To encapsulate a liquid crystal between substrates while mixing of bubbles is prevented under normal pressure. SOLUTION: First and second pressure rollers 4 and 5 are disposed opposite to each other via a prescribed interval. A pair of array and CF substrates 2 and 3 are passed between the pressure rollers 4 and 5. A substrate warping roller 10 warping the rear side of the passed CF substrate 3 is disposed on the rear side of the pressure rollers 4 and 5 to the travel direction of the substrates 2 and 3. The liquid crystal of a prescribed quantity is supplied to one end part of a liquid crystal encapsulating region of the array substrate 2. The array and CF substrates 2 and 3 are simultaneously inserted between the pressure rollers 4 and 5 in the state that the CF substrate 3 is warped. As the both substrates 2 and 3 are passed between the pressure rollers 4 and 5, the both substrates 2 and 3 are stuck to each other sequentially from one end side, and at this time, the liquid crystal A is extended sequentially to the whole liquid crystal encapsulating region from the one end side. Thus, the liquid crystal A is encapsulated between the substrates 2 and 3 so that the bubbles are not mixed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
