PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal oil separator mountable on an air-conditioner or a refrigerator using a high pressure refrigerant. SOLUTION: The centrifugal oil separator comprises an approximately cylindrical container body, an inlet pipe horizontally provided at the upper part of the side face of the container body and having an inlet for the container body located near the inner face of the side wall of the container body and opened toward its tangent direction for admitting the gas refrigerant, an outlet pipe provided at the upper part of the container body for discharging the gas refrigerant, an oil return pipe provided at the lower part of the container body for returning oil separated from the gas refrigerant to the outside, a flat portion formed on the surface at the upper part of the side face of the container body, where the container body intersects the inlet pipe, an inlet pipe insertion hole formed in the flat portion, and a burring formed at the edge of the inlet pipe insertion hole toward the outside.
