PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for a bridge pier of a viaduct, which dispenses with lifting work and high lift work and can minimize the occupancy width of a road etc. required for the construction of a bridge pier girder. SOLUTION: In this construction method for the bridge pier of the viaduct, wherein an upper girder is supported by a column 1, a hollow pile 3 at least almost as long as the column 1 is constructed in ground; the column 1 is inserted into the hollow part of the pile 3; the bridge pier girder 2 of the viaduct is constructed in the upper part of the inserted column 1; after that, the girder 2 and the column 1 are lifted by a jack 4 and turned at a prescribed angle, so as to be supported in a prescribed position; and subsequently, the column 1 is fixed to the pile 3.
