PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide auxiliary light source equipment for an endoscopy instrument, which has a semipermanent life, is able to minimize power consumption for the auxiliary light source, and has a sufficient amount of light as the auxiliary light source. SOLUTION: The endoscopy instrument has a main light source; a light guide fiber whose light incident end face faces the main light source and whose light projection end face faces a lighting optical unit that is established at the tip section of an endoscope; and the auxiliary light source which stands by at a place where it does not face the light incident end face when the main light source lights and which moves to an operating place where it faces the light incident end face when the main light source turns off.
