PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding container for transport, which is constituted so that a folding operation can be done easier. SOLUTION: A container body 21 of the folding container for transport includes a rectangular plate-like bottom wall 22 and each pair of shorter sidewalls 23 and longer sidewalls 24. A vertically slidable engaging member 25 is attached to an external face of the shorter sidewall 23. Laterally slidable locking plates 72 are provided at both ends of the shorter sidewall 23 to be engaged with the rear face of restricting protrusions 76 provided at both ends of the longer sidewall 24 so that they can be engaged/disengaged. Restricting protrusions 61 are protrusively provided at both ends of the engaging member 25 to be inserted into engaging recesses 54 at both ends of the longer sidewall 24 and engaged with first and second engaging parts 56. The engaging member 25 is constantly urged upward by an urging means. When the member 25 is pressed downward, the engagement of the engaging protrusions 61 with the first and second engaging parts 56 is canceled, so that the shorter sidewall 23 can rotate inward and outward from the container body 21.
