PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-versatility top plate and furniture with top plate which can flexibly respond to change in separate areas of a workspace or change in arrangement of furniture and can make gaps between top plates of a piece of furniture with top plate and another piece of furniture with top plate arranged adjacently to it barely noticeable. SOLUTION: The top plate 1 has a peripheral border which is composed of a usable edge 11, a non-usable edge 12 and a pair of side edges 13, 13.
