PURPOSE: A cooling and heating apparatus using hydrogen storage alloys, and a method for controlling the same are provided to prevent a bad operation of a valve switching a flow direction of hydrogen by preventing continuous hydrogen carrier to one reactor filled with relatively lots of hydrogen. CONSTITUTION: Whether a control signal for starting an operation of a cooling and heating apparatus is generated is confirmed. If the control signal is inputted, current pressure values of reactors is received from pressure sensing elements. The current pressure values of the reactors are compared with each other. A hydrogen flow guiding element is controlled to flow hydrogen toward the reactor having a low pressure from the reactor having a high pressure.
