<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network acquisition method and cellular radio communication equipment having advantages exceeding those of a conventional method and device. <P>SOLUTION: The network acquisition method is employed for the cellular radio communication equipment constituted so as to operate according to a plurality of radio access technologies, and includes a step for identifying a cell suitable for one of the radio access technologies by performing a search for identifying the cell suitable for the one radio access technology, and further includes a step for performing monitoring for identifying whether one of a plurality of other cells is more suitable than the cell suitable for the one radio access technology by monitoring the plurality of other cells in the plurality of radio access technologies, and a step following the monitor step for shifting to the cell identified out of the plurality of radio access technologies searched as the most suitable cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
