BURIED PIPE EXTENSION METHOD AND ITS DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extending a buried pipe and its device for extending a buried pipeline safely along an existing buried pipeline even where buried objects gather near the pipeline by adopting a one-process non-open-cut method which neither needs to dig a road surface nor damages the existing buried pipeline when a small diameter buried pipeline is extended.

SOLUTION: An existing-pipeline gripping device 5a moves to slide having the existing buried pipeline 1 as a guide, while gripping a periphery of the pipeline 1. A rotation rod 7 and an extension pipeline 8 are fitted to a rear end of a drilling body 5b for extending the buried pipeline which body 5b is provided with the gripping device 5a on its side face. The rotation rod 7 and the extension pipeline 8 have a rigidity to resist a compressive force from a ground-installed rod-rotary type propulsion machine 6 and a flexibility to bend according to a necessity for laying the extension pipeline. A tapered head 5d mounted at a front end of the drilling body 5b in the excavation direction excavates the ground by a turning force and a propulsion force of the rotation rod 7 applied from the propulsion machine 6. Thus, the buried pipeline is extended newly by the non-open-cut method without adopting an open-cut method digging the road surface. Further, certain isolation from the buried objects near the extension pipeline may be secured.
