<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good reconstructed image by removing scattered radiation due to a subject from projection data. <P>SOLUTION: The subject X-ray computed tomography imaging apparatus having a means to reconstruct an image by processing data collected by scanning a subject by the relative movement of an X-ray source 100 with respect to the subject and back projecting the processed data removes the scattered radiation by the collected data by placing an X-ray shield between the focal point of the X-ray source 100 and an X-ray detector 115 in the direction of progress of X rays incident to the X-ray detector 115 through the subject from the focal point of the X-ray source 100 and detecting the amount of scattered radiation from an X-ray detector portion in which a primary X ray is shielded by the X-ray shield. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
