PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core/shell composite particulate wherein a nano-size inorganic particulate forms the core and a fluorine-containing polymer containing units derived from a fluorine-containing monomer forms the shell, as well as to provide its preparation method and its application. SOLUTION: The composite particulate is the one which comprises the nano-size inorganic particulate whose surface is covered by the fluorine-containing polymer containing the units derived from the fluorine-containing monomer and in which the proportion of the inorganic particulate is 1-90 mass%. The composite particulate is prepared by polymerizing, through a seed polymerization method, the fluorine-containing monomer in a polymerization system that has the inorganic particulate dispersed in an aqueous medium in the presence of a surfactant.
