PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To encase a smaller outside diameter cell (of size R6) in a cell case which encases a larger outside diameter cell (of size R14) without using an adapter and without position deviation. SOLUTION: A holding plate 3 is pivotally supported on a supporting shaft 9 and urged obliquely upward by a spring 4. Upon opening a lid 2 and inserting an R14 cell 7 into a box 1, the holding plate 3 is pressed down to the bottom with the spring 4 compressed by the weight of the cell 7 and the pressure of the lid. Positive and negative electrodes contact with respective contact-terminals 5 on both sides. As for an R6 cell 8, upon inserting the cell 8 in an upper corner portion where electrodes contact contact-terminals 6 and closing the lid 2, the holding plate 3 pushes up the cell 8 by urging of the spring 4 and holds it in the upper corner portion, whereby the electrodes of the cell 8 do not slip off the contact-terminals 6 in any cell case attitude.
