PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball joint of enhanced durability. SOLUTION: A projecting portion 51 projecting in an arc-shaped section toward an outer circumferential surface of a ball part 31 is provided on a ball seat 4. A recessed portion 52 located between the projecting portions 51 to store grease is provided in the ball seat 4. The contact area of the ball seat 4 with the ball part 31 is reduced by the projecting portion 51. A lubricating layer is formed around the ball part 31 with grease stored in each recessed portion 52 not in contact with the ball part 31. When the ball part 31 is allowed to slide with respect to the ball seat 4, grease stored in the recessed portions 52 is easily drawn into a space between the ball part 31 and the projecting part 51 to enhance the lubricity between the ball part 31 and the projecting part 51. Since the wear resistance of the ball seat 4 is enhanced, the durability is enhanced thereby. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
