PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data file copying system that only transfers a play list and the portion of a data file required for reproducing the play list. SOLUTION: The data file copying system reads out a play list to be copied from the play list recording means 102 of a camera 1. A data file selecting means 103 reads out in order all data files to be recorded in the play list from a data file recording means 101, and a trimming means 104 extracts portions required for reproducing the data files. A transmitting means 105 transmits trimmed data files to another camera 2. A play list rewriting means 106 rewrites the information at the reproduced spot of each data file registered in the play list.
