PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily secure processing efficiency and positional accuracy of transfer by keeping reproducibility of the positional accuracy at the time of attaching/detaching a transfer holder when carrying out magnetic transfer by using the transfer holder to keep the master carriers in close contact with a slave medium. SOLUTION: A transfer holder 10 arranged between the holder supporting parts 8 of a device main body 7 is provided with a side holder 5 and another side holder 6 which come in contact with or are separated from each other. The magnetic transfer is carried out by: holding, by using the side holders 5 and 6, a slave medium 2 receiving the transfer and master carriers 3, 4 carrying transfer information to keep them in close contact with each other; and applying a magnetic field for transfer thereto. A positioning mechanism 11 is provided for positioning the transfer holder at least in the direction perpendicular to the center shaft by arranging, for example, positioning blocks 9 between the transfer holder 10 and the holder supporting parts 8.
