PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion apparatus comprising a burner, a fan motor for blowing combustion air to the burner, and an electric unit having the function of detecting the blowing condition of the fan motor with a fan control return signal, allowing accurate detection of insufficient combustion, when caused by the blockage of a suction port of the fan motor or the breakage of a fan itself. SOLUTION: The electric unit stores a value for a fan current as the fan control return signal in the state that the blowing condition of the fan motor is normal and threshold values of upper and lower limit values for detecting the abnormal condition calculated by multiplying a learning value for the normal condition of the fan current by a certain rate. The blowing condition of the fan motor is detected from the fan current as the fan control return signal, and when the fan current exceeds the set threshold value, the combustion apparatus is safely stopped because of the abnormal blow of the fan motor.
