PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a paving body with high water retentivity or obtain the paving body having high water retentivity and, at the same time, having sufficient strength and durability and to provide a formation method for such a paving body. SOLUTION: The surface layer 2 provided to the paving body is an asphalt mixture forming a gap between aggregate by adjusting a particle size distribution of the aggregate and an amount of asphalt, and the gap is at least filled with a filler mixing water, cement and vermiculite. Since the vermiculite is excellent in water retentivity and hygroscopicity, rain water or steam or the like is absorbed by a small amount of vermiculite filled in the gap, and sufficient water content can be conserved in the surface layer. High strength is revealed in the case of hardening even if a compound having sufficient water retentivity is made. Since the vermiculite has good dispersibility when cement is mixed with water, the filler can easily flow in between aggregate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
