770,028. Cabinets. TIPDEX (HOLDINGS), Ltd. Dec. 8, 1954 [Jan. 14, 1954; Jan. 26, 1954], Nos. 1110/54 and 2335/54. Class 52 (1). Filing boxes 15 constructed as described in Specification 770,027 are so mounted in the casing that, as they are swung open, their lower parts move more rearwardly into the casing than they would if the boxes were mounted each on a fixed horizontal axis. As shown in Fig. 2, each box is supported at each side by an inclined side bar 26, the lower end of which rests on the front of an abutment 25 fixed to the casing. When the box is opened, the bar pivots about an abutment 27 and is thereafter supported at the rear of abutment 25. When the box is closed, the bar pivots on an abutment 28 and is restored to its initial position. The bar's movement is limited by abutments 30, 31. As shown in Fig. 4, the box carries pivot pins 44 sliding in vertical guides 45 on the casing and a projection 40 pivots on a slider 42 moving on a plate 43 fixed to the casing, the slider moving rearwardly as the box is opened. The slider may be omitted and the projection bear directly on the plate 43. The first Provisional Specification refers to other means for movably pivoting the boxes to the casing.
