There is provided a download system capable of appropriately dispersing a load on a server and a transmission path and improving the convenience for data download. A reservation candidate acquisition section (14) of a communication terminal (10) acquires reservation candidate information including time information associated with a candidate time band to which reservation of update file download can be allocated, from a software management server (30). In the communication terminal (10), a reservation time band is selected from the time band corresponding to the time information contained in the reservation candidate information and the software management server (30) registers reservation of the reservation time band. Thus, since a reservation time band can be selected from the time band candidates transmitted by the software management server (30), it is possible to obtain a high convenience. Moreover, since the time band candidate is obtained according to the reservation table set so as to disperse the load of the software management server (30) and the load of the transmission path, the load on the software management server (30) and the load on the transmission path are appropriately dispersed.
