<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide letters and designs of printed patterns of a desired shape without any distortion not only on a barrel portion but also on a shoulder portion of a can body (for example, a bottle-shaped can) in which an upper portion of the cylindrical barrel portion forms an inclined shoulder portion. <P>SOLUTION: A metal sheet is punched and drawn into a shallow cup. This shallow cup is further formed into a bottomed cylindrical and vertically long cup with a barrel portion thereof thin-walled. After a printed pattern is provided on an outer surface of the cylindrical barrel portion of the vertically long cup, an inclined shoulder portion is formed on one end part side of the vertically long cup. In this case, the printed pattern provided on the outer surface of the cylindrical barrel portion of the vertically long cup 10 is provided to a portion formed into a shoulder portion 3 in the subsequent machining, and letters and designs of the printed pattern provided on the portion formed in the shoulder portion 3 in the subsequent machining are in a distorted shape which is wider upward of the pattern to a desired shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
