<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive image forming material which is used for a method for forming an image by eliminating an unexposed part on a printing machine, after a photosensitive layer formed on a substrate is exposed to light in an imaging manner, which is excellent in printing resistance, and which is excellent in image reproducibility by virtue of the absence of a stain on a non-image part. <P>SOLUTION: The photosensitive layer of the photosensitive image forming material is of a hydrophilic under coating layer which is formed on the substrate with a roughened surface or the porous substrate, and which is insoluble in water and an organic solvent after being formed on the substrate.
