PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method of remote control capable of suppressing the resources of a remote controller, by managing the resources of device setting of the small remote controller by a server. SOLUTION: This remote control system consists of a remote controller and a server computer which can perform data communication via a communication network 101. The remote controller receives image data for display of the server computer to display the data, and the server computer receives the contents instructed on the display, to execute processing corresponding to the contents of the instruction. The server computer has a terminal setting information storage means 115 for storing the setting information of the remote controller and a setting information management means 113 for performing control so that the stored setting information is read and transmitted to the remote controller.
