PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording method in which a user can record positional information or an image freely and deterioration in the recording quality can be suppressed when the images are recorded on one recording medium. SOLUTION: While taking account of the fact that a pattern of dark dots (S305: Bk) is recorded on the same recording medium, processing for lowering each gray level of CMY based on a duty for recording the pattern of dark dots is performed when CMY data is generated (S302).
