PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a safety function in a hammering tool of a gas combustion type or the like. SOLUTION: A nose provided at the tip of an inner guide 17 is exposed by the stroke dimension required to release strike-out lock, which makes it actually impossible to grip the nose with the fingers to retreat and release the lock. The greater part of a head 3 is covered with a shroud 18. An interlocking plate 46 moving integrally with the inner guide 17 to release the strike-out lock is covered from below with an overhang part 20a provided at a lower member 20 of an outer guide 16, which makes it impossible to put the finger or the like between the shroud 18 and the outer guide 16 to operate the interlocking plate 46.
