PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cast an impeller having a thin-walled vane at a high yield. SOLUTION: The impeller is cast by pouring, into the cavity of a casting mold, either melt of the following two kinds of high-silicon steels at 1,600-1,640°C: precipitation hardening type three-phase high-silicon stainless steel comprising a mixture of martensite, austenite and ferrite, and two-phase high-silicon stainless steel comprising a mixture of austenite and ferrite. Since both molten stainless steels are excellent in fluidity because of the high-silicon content, it is possible to cast the impeller having the thin-walled vane, like in the case of casting with SUS304 stainless steel. Further, since the temperature of the molten high-silicon stainless steel is lower than that of molten SUS304 stainless steel, the occurrence of casting defects decreases, whereby the yield of cast products is enhanced.
