PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display element comprising an applied stable IR dye composition usable as printing ink on an imaging element. SOLUTION: The photographic display element comprises a support, a front side which has at least one photographic imaging layer, and a back side, the front and back sides being on opposite sides of the support, and the photographic element further comprises applied on the front or back side a composition comprising coalesced hydrophobic polymer particles having associated therewith an infrared absorbing polymethine dye having covalently bonded thereto a phenylenediamine moiety.
