PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy maintenance of a regenerative refrigerator for a super-conductive magnet device. SOLUTION: The refrigerator for the super-conductive magnet device has a portion exposed from a vacuum container 7 of an old refrigerator 3B to be replaced and covered with a globe box 10. In the globe box, there are a displacer 20A mounted in a cylinder 21A and a driving part 22A connected to the displacer 20A. The maintenance method comprises loading a new replacing refrigerator 3A containing substituted helium gas, filling the helium gas in the globe box 10, where a new body 3A' consisting of the displacer 20A and the driving part 22A is extracted and separated from the cylinder 21A of the new refrigerator 3A and an old body 3B' consisting of a displacer 20B and a driving part 22B is extracted and separated from a cylinder 21B of the old refrigerator 3B, and then loading the new body 3A' into the cylinder 21B of the old refrigerator.
