PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a heat pipe type cooler, in which cooling is executed by a natural convection, to have a structure capable of obtaining sufficient cooling efficiency in the vertical arrangement. SOLUTION: The heat pipe type cooling device for a power converter is characterized in that it has first/second heat pipe type coolers 5a,5b arranged via a semiconductor element for power and the first/second heat pipe type coolers 5a,5b are arranged so that the side, to which air flowing between respective heat radiating fins 12 of the first/second heat pipe type coolers 5a,5b flows out, becomes outside. By such an arrangement, the flow velocity of the air can be increased and also it can be made so as not to be affected by mutual thermal interference of the heat pipe type coolers.
